We're Maddi & Tim

We're two parents with two kids who love telling stories together.

Our daughter Luna is always asking us to tell her stories. She can't get enough! We adore seeing her creativity grow, and every story helps nurture her spark.

But sometimes, for us, that spark just isn't there. Story time isn't always easy, and occasionally, it's a source of anxiety.

During these moments, we need a tool to help us connect that can also support our own capacity. Something flexible, forgiving, and fun.

Story Bounce is our answer.

We created Story Bounce because we were tired 🤷‍♀️

We were tired of being exhausted, but still wanting to play. Tired of reaching for the remote when we really wanted connection. Tired of toys that needed our full attention when we barely had any energy left.

We needed a new tool in our playtime toolkit that made the "yes" a little easier, especially because Luna and her little brother Nova just LOVE stories and imaginative play!

We hope our vibrant and versatile play mats become a staple in your own low-energy playkits too. We've had endless fun with ours already, and can't wait to release new themes and accessories!

We knew we were onto something when we first received our prototype samples. Every day we found that our kids had taken them out to play again.

So we knew that other kids would 'get it' too.

Our Work and Passion

We are partners in life but also in business. We are co-founders, co-authors, co-designers, co-directors, and somehow still can't get enough of one another? Here's a little look at our other work:

Children's Authors

We wrote and published our first children's book, Little Kook's Laugh, in 2024. The second book in this series will be published in 2025. Little Kook's story encourages exploration and admiration of our wildlife, as well as wholesome family time and cosy reading cuddles! Bright, bold imagery and onomatopoeic bird calls helps little readers AND big readers identify some iconic neighbourhood birds.

Jewellery Designers

Our primary day-to-day jobs are as designers and business directors. Maddi founded BINKABU, a bird-themed earring brand, in 2019. It is now a thriving small business in Brisbane with its own workshop, industrial machinery, and a team of amazing humans who we love working with every day. In 2025, we also launched Spice & Dragons, a fantasy-inspired jewellery business.

Story Bounce

We have only just launched Story Bounce, but it's a product we really believe in (it's helped us so much already!) and we have big plans for the brand. As product developers and designers, we knew we had the skills to create something new and unique, with intention, for parents like us. There was a lot to learn and a lot of hurdles to jump in this new world of kid's toys/play accessories, but we're excited to be here!
